Formate Dehydrogenases Reduce CO <sub>2</sub> Rather than HCO <sub>3</sub> <sup>?</sup> : An Electrochemical Demonstration

Mo/W formate dehydrogenases catalyze the reversible reduction of CO2 species to formate. It is thought that substrate and not a hydrated like HCO3?, but there still no indisputable evidence for this, in spite extreme importance nature mechanistic studies. We devised simple electrochemical method definitively demonstrate indeed CO2.
